The band has been busily practising over the past six weeks and progress has been smooth while numbers have increased steadily. Formed way back in 1911, the band is the third oldest in Ireland but fell on hard times in the mid-1990s and slowly slipped out of existence. Read more

makes return appearance Article in local papers - August 27, 2008 St. Colmcille's Pipe Band made a welcome return to the streets of Tullamore during the All-Ireland Fleadh weekend, dazzling the crowds with a fine exhibition of piping and drumming. The recently reformed band, the third oldest in Ireland having been founded in 1911, made their first appearance for a number of years, performing at Hayes' Cross on Saturday evening where a large crowd gathered despite the unkind weather.
